It's so loud   especially because i’m sitting in the front row i was so close i could feel the vibration of the drums banging. I couldn’t hear anything else except for the drums i couldn’t even hear the person next to me.  At one point i could see the flames of fire used as drums and the swiss wash of the fire and the warmth of it to.

I could hear the ring of the symbol and the sound of the rain okay it was the tree log drum anyway it sound the same. Anyway there were to much to explain i hope you can see them play sometime

ko wai au

Ko Wai Au?
My dad is slightly older than my mum so he’s the biggest koru and then my  mum is the second biggest koru and me and my brother are under my mum and dad. I’m on top and my brother is under me. Under all of us I drew an ocean because I love the beach and a piano because I love playing the piano  underneath I drew a picture frame because I love art.

Rm 10 crab soccer

This week for PE, it was raining outside so we headed over to the hall for a game of crab soccer. Prior to starting the game we had some relays to warm ourselves up and to get the heart pumping! A special shout out to Brooke and Ashley who did twice as much exercise during the relays as anyone else. Their team was short two people and they pushed the limits out of the stratosphere to really compete at a very high level in comparison to other teams. It was another opportunity for me to see resilience in action as some relays required a problem solving approach to conquer them. The game of crab soccer was so much fun to watch. The ball ended up flying in so many different directions and the crabs were speedy at recovering it and ensuring it travelled in the correct direction. Gotta love PE in the hall when the weather is miserable outside!

Free writting

Each day we do a free writing entry. We were asked to put in our favorite free writing entry there's my.
The smell of an orange reminds me of…. A peach without its skin a rainbow without colours and a horned goat without horns. The smell of a orange makes my nose feel how i would feel i was swimming in lemon juice. A egsotic fruit punch and a lemonade mixed together to make orange juice. Like a milky way without milk a stary night without stars and a river without water these things remind me of the smell of a orange like a pot hole with dirt in it like a cat without whiskers, a donkey named horse these are weird things but so is a orange you can eat the skin of an apple but not a orange you taste the inside but not the outside why is a orange called a orange is it because of its colour if everything was named after a colour a tree would be called brown with green hair and in the autumn it would be call brown with orange hair  a orange is orange but if i painted it blue would it be called blue or a orange painted blue these are the question constantly circling my head everyday everynight a orange is a orange  and it reminds me of autumn.

Self portrait

We used an art technique called cross-hatching to create our self portrait this year. This technique creates more of a 3d effect which is what we were wanting rather than just colouring ourselves in. Miss O'B had an A3 black and white photo of us. First we had to colour our pupil, iris and cornea with appropriate colours. We then used 'people crayons' which are made with skin tone colours. Using the two closest colours to our skin tone, we cross hatched our face starting at our forehead and moving down to our neck. The hardest part was our nose.  We then coloured our hair, completed our school uniform and blocked out the background in a vibrant pastel colour so our faces stood out. So what do you think of my self portrait?
